It is the mission of the CGAC to protect and preserve the history of Cherry Grove, in all of its various forms...including photos, videos, artwork, and documenting our stories through interviews with long time residents. Only with donations of material from our community are we able to piece together the years of parties, political events, performances and pageantry that has made the Grove so special since its first days.

CGAC collects books and periodicals; personal and professional photographs; personal documents, such as letters, diaries and manuscripts; organizational records, such as meeting minutes, reports and promotional material; film, video and audio recordings; art and art photography; and a variety of other objects related to Cherry Grove and the LGBTQ+ experience in Fire Island.

If you're interested in finding out how you can contribute your memories to our archive, please contact our Committee Chairman Troy Files by email (contact@cgarchives.org).

We also work hard to create fabulous fundraisers and encourage our community members to donate toward the hefty cost of preserving and digitizing our material.

A donation to The Cherry Grove Archives Collection supports daily operations of CGAC including processing materials, securing physical housing for archival materials, planning exhibitions, and hosting programs. Donations of any size are welcome and we appreciate your generosity. If you have any further questions about your donation, please don't hesitate to contact us.

Please consider donating to the Cherry Grove Archives Collection, your generous contributions help us in continuing to "save the past and make it last".
